… in fact I reckon one of these in a gutted-out boombox would have a certain Retro 80s chic – especially given the instant deification of MJ over the last few days.

I’m still thinking about your last comment. It will always be cheaper to buy… One generation back, it was cheaper to build which is one reason why Heathkit was so popular. I sometimes work with children and it is hard to get them interested because nothing we build seems that impressive.

Madox – You’re right, but it is a really handy troubleshooting tool. Without it, you are flying blind for the first few steps.
