I'm confident there is server software available for other platforms, but I haven't ventured outside the Mac yet. I'm actually real interested in putting one together that doesn't use a huge computer. I'm thinking something in the neighborhood of a Gumstix computer with a USB attached drive to serve up the playlist, but for now, mine is running on my VMWare ESX server.
