Re: OpenWRT as DLNA client/renderer
Lot of views, no comments... oh well. After a bit of searching I found some related topics, it seems that some versions of OpenWRT do have problems which I see here: https://forum.openwrt.org/viewtopic.php?id=42088 . So next I disabled relayd, turned wifi off and connected 703N via ethernet to get n...

OpenWRT as DLNA client/renderer
Since now almost every device in the network has a DLNA server or client functions, I've been wondering if our wifi radios could do it to. Keyword here is CLIENT or RENDERER because that way you can send any music file to it from your smartphone or PC by clicking (or tapping) on a simple "play ...

Also 703N: http://wiki.openwrt.org/toh/tp-link/tl-wr703n Very popular on eBay and other stores, not expensive, and there are modded versions with more RAM and ROM (also just chips for DIY) so you don't have to use USB memory. Here is my setup, 703N is powered by USB on Philips stereo http://www.pohr...

Re: Sound problems
Good news! It seems that some bugs have been squashed when OpenWRT came out of beta, so on final 12.09 wireless and USB sound work together without chopping. :D Not that this setup is without problems (for us noobs) because Atheros and WRT don't play nice in client mode, I was hoping that was fixed ...

Re: Sound problems
Unfortunately, in the Atheros AR9331 chip which is the heart of the TL-WR703N router, it looks like there is only an EHCI device and no OHCI. For some unknown reasons, full-speed devices seem to work somehow, but very unreliably, like what you observed with the Arduino communication. It looks like ...

Sound problems, TP-link 703N
Hello all, and thank you for sharing this awesome project! I have successfully transformed 3 devices into wi-fi radio so far: First it was Siemens SX763, which is actually DSL modem/router given to users by biggest local ISP. So it's cheap, easy to find and on paper quite powerful. Still buggy, but ...
