Re: Sound problem
Not sure why I did not try this before, but I plugged the usb audio device directly into the router and it worked. Not sure was the issue is with my usb hub. When plugged into the hub, the device is recognized as is my memory stick. Again, this is odd because it all worked before. The hub can be pow...

Re: Sound problem
cat /dev/random >/dev/sound/dsp yields nothing. Well, no sound that is. After trying the command, this was in dmesg:
usbaudio: dma timed out??
usbaudio: dma timed out??
usbaudio: dma timed out??
Any ideas?

Sound problem
I have read many of the posts related to sound/audio problems but none of the suggestions helped me. In the not too distant past, my setup was working. I recently broke it by needlessly reinstalling everything. Hopefully, that was just a momentary brain lapse. My problem is that I get no sound at al...

Re: usb hub
It is funny. Now that I have two set ups, I feel more comfortable about playing with things. I have not had any success with the USB jump drive. I tried a 4GB drive (ext2), and a 1gb drive (fat32). I don't see e2fsprogs or fdisk using the opkg source in the article. I wanted to try to configure the ...

Re: usb hub
I broke it again trying to get a jump drive to work. With the usb2 module loaded, the usb hub stops working. I moved 50-usb2 out of modules.d and rebooted. After doing this it worked fine.

Re: usb hub
Well, problem solved. Sort of solved. Rather than using my build, I used the one from MightyOhm. It worked. USB hub work not sure what was causing it not to work in my build.

Re: usb hub
I still have not loaded up a different image, but I figured I should probably show the results of a lsmod. It might assist. Perhaps I have not loaded a module that needs to be loaded. Below is the lsmod output with the audio device plugged into the usb hub and mpc playing a tune. Module Size Used by...

Re: usb hub
Well, the router I was working with I got as an open box unit. Thinking perhaps there might be an issue with the router, I purchased an un-opened unit. Sadly, I have the same issue. The device is being recognized by the OS and mpc will not error out, but I get no sound. I did flash the new router wi...

Re: usb hub
Well, a different audio device, but same result. Below is the information from dmesg. The first part is with the hub and the second part is without: hub.c: new USB device 00:03.1-1, assigned address 2 hub.c: USB hub found hub.c: 4 ports detected hub.c: new USB device 00:03.1-1.3, assigned address 3 ...
