Re: Progress!

Cheers Gerben,

OK so now I've got both fstab to mount my flash drive and init.d/mpd to start mpd on boot. However now MPD can't find any of my mp3s. Darn.
Help anyone?

How to mount a flashdrive and configure MPD

Hi guys. You might have noticed by my earlier posts I am now happily running openWRT Kamikaze 2.4 from an ASUS WL-500G Premium. MPD is installed and configured to work with my usb sound card and I have wonderful crist internet radio to listen to. The next step is to be able to mount a flash drive an...

Re: Progress!

Ok so it's taken me a while but I've almost done it. I have a USB flash drive formated with ext2(ubuntu 11.04 doesn't give you the option to do ext3...) MPD seemed to install onto the flash drive fine and the router will mount the flash drive on start up. I'm struggling with the final section. Expor...

Re: Progress!

OK I know that this is a bit cheeky but is there any way that you could post us a 'how to' guide on your personal setup. I've just got myself a wl-500g premium router and was wanting to start having some fun. I've run into problems when trying to use the firmware from this website and was wondering ...

Re: Anyone tried the Asus WL-500g?

ok so rebooted the router and all I'm getting is a lot of annoying beeps. Something that has been widely discussed on these forums so I think I can attribute it to the crappy littly usb soundcard I got on Tinkernut's advice. Think I'll go for something from your guys list of working cards. What do y...

Re: Anyone tried the Asus WL-500g?

ok so maybe not quite perfect yet. I've got no sound. Set up ario and used the correct ip to connect. The AIR light starts flickering and the light in the USB soundcard starts blinking. This tells me that everything is working... erm no sound out of the speakers. And yes I've just tested the speaker...

Re: Anyone tried the Asus WL-500g?

Ok now this is incredibly exciting
Ithink it's all working!
Thanks for that. I had done the mkdir part but not the cd ~ bit so it had come up saying that the directories already existed.
mpd starts as does mpc. Now I just need to test it all!

Re: Anyone tried the Asus WL-500g?

Actually that's just my shocking typing. There's not space between them. I've just tried it again and the same error comes up. I go into the /etc/mpd.conf file and don't find anything wrong there. If you say you run the WL-500g what did you do to get yours to work? I presume you did pretty much the ...
