Strange noise with Ludlum 44-9 and Uranyl Nitrate

Hi all, this is my first post on this forum. 10 minutes ago, I conducted a test to see how active a weak solution of Uranyl Nitrate that I have, was. I put it close to the probe opening, and heard some strange, very very faint clicking noises coming from somewhere inside the device. My detector was muted, so that it wouldn't sound off. My question is: was this sound an electrical pulse or something of that nature (I know that GCs use high voltage) or if it was something to do with charged particles striking the mica face. I'm not super savvy on how these things work internally. I do have video which includes audio of the clicks, let me know if you want to hear it.
