wl520-gu overheating ???

Post by Jeanrocco »

Hello, did anyone experienced a router freeze while playing music ? To the touch the CPU was fairly hot, so I added an small heat-sink on the CPU with creasy glue, and so far no more freezes... Anyone ?

I haven't seen freezes but the CPU does get hot, that is normal. A heatsink is not a bad idea.

Ho ! an answer by the Master :-), thanks, I guess I have a sensitive router then, it's been on continuously for the last 4 or 5 months now... and started to freeze about a couple of days ago. But since the heatsink, no freeze,... fingers crossed ! Made the same radio with a Raspberry Pi and the same USB sound card (stereo + quality) I'm even starting to learn (and like) Python... it's all your fault :-) ! Bye for now !

well in retrospect, I think my wifi goes bezerk now and then, I couldn't find out why yet, but the wl520-gu overheating has nothing to do with it, my sincere appologies... :-)
