Compiled backfire image too big

Post by hberg539 »

Hi,

i really like the wifi radio project and i also have an asus wl-520gU.

When i'm compiling a current backfire openwrt image (http://mightyohm.com/blog/2008/11/build ... g-openwrt/), i end up with an too big image, about 4,2 megs.
I tried to remove unneeded packages like ppp, iptables, ipv6, etc.. but i can't get it small enough. The same problem with the openwrt imagebuilder.

Can you explain, what modifications you did, to get such a small image?

I got the additional libraries for the imagebuilder from the ./scripts/feed install command, beacuse it seems that imagebuilder does not solve dependencies:

Code: Select all

Installing package 'madplay'
Installing package 'libid3tag'
Installing package 'gettext'
Installing package 'libiconv'
Installing package 'libmad'
Installing package 'mpc'
Installing package 'libmpdclient'
Installing package 'mpd'
Installing package 'alsa-lib'
Installing package 'libaudiofile'
Installing package 'faad2'
Installing package 'glib2'
Installing package 'libiconv-full'
Installing package 'gettext-full'
Installing package 'curl'
Installing package 'flac'
Installing package 'libmms'
Installing package 'libshout'
Installing package 'speex'
Installing package 'libtheora'
Installing package 'libogg'
Installing package 'libvorbis'
Installing package 'libvorbisidec'
Thanks.

Best regards,
hberg
