Putting a tube in a probe with twinax cable

Hello and thanks in advance for any advice you have. I purchased the Geiger kit and wanted to make a probe out of a plastic flashlight case I had in the shop. My question is this: if I am using twinax type cable (3 lead instrument mic cable) for my probe (tube + and -, ground shield) is there anything I should worry about using this design? I have read that placing the 4.6m R.2 resistor on the tube itself will help eliminate noise etc.. , but other than the resistor placement is there anything I should know? Much appreciated!

I have not tried this, but others on the forums have. I am not aware of any issues. Make sure your cable is rated for the high voltage of the tube (500V).

Thanks for the quick reply. Sounds like all I would need to do is use the twin leads +/- for the tube and then ground the shielding. I'll post pics as soon as it's finished.
