I'm looking at creating a Squeezecenter player and came across the WiFi radio project. Since Squeezecenter does all this for you from a PC or NAS box (I'm using a Netgear ReadNAS NV+) all you need is a player installed on something and some audio output. My Logitech Duet controller should be able to manage it remotely.
Does anyone reckon it would be possible to install http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/SqueezeSlave onto the ASUS WL-520gU ?
Your thoughts?
Cheers, Tim
Install SqueezeSlave?
Re: Install SqueezeSlave?
Tim,
You would have to cross-compile it from source using the OpenWrt build system. It looks like a compiled version for Linux is ~500kB, so there is some hope that you could fit it onto the onboard flash of the WL-520gU. SqueezeSlave also uses OSS, which is a good sign, since that is what mpd uses. I guess in the end it probably comes down to the dependencies and what the overall CPU/memory footprint is when running it.
