A few people have asked me about the playlist that ships with the interface.sh script for my Wifi Radio<\/a> project.<\/p>\n

I’ve actually modified my playlist slightly, so here’s what I’m currently listening to.\u00a0 Click on the links to open each station in Winamp or iTunes.<\/p>\n

1. SLAY Radio<\/h3>\n

http:\/\/slayradio.org\/tune_in.php\/128kbps\/listen.m3u<\/a><\/p>\n

SLAY Radio<\/a> is dedicated to playing original and remixed tunes from the Commodore 64<\/a>.\u00a0 Regular live shows that feature guest DJs who select and play their favorite C64 tunes, plus occasionally some stuff from the Amiga<\/a> and other platforms.\u00a0 SLAY Radio inspired me to dust off my old sid<\/a> and mod<\/a> files.\u00a0 Does it get any better than this?<\/p>\n

2. KCRW Simulcast<\/h3>\n

An NPR<\/a> affiliate based in Los Angeles, KCRW<\/a> has a wide variety of music and talk radio programming.\u00a0 They also transmit on FM 89.9MHz.<\/p>\n

3. Bassdrive<\/h3>\n

Bassdrive<\/a> plays jungle and drum and bass (see dnb<\/a>).\u00a0 Lots of live shows and guest DJs.\u00a0 One of my favorites.<\/p>\n

4. di.fm – Soulful House<\/h3>\n

This group of six stations are hosted by Digitally Imported<\/a>, which offers a wide variety of electronic dance music<\/a> at both free and premium (higher quality\/bitrate) paid membership levels.<\/p>\n

5. di.fm – Lounge<\/h3>\n

6. di.fm – Breaks<\/h3>\n

Hosted by San Francisco-based soma.fm<\/a>.\u00a0 Plays “A nicely chilled plate of ambient beats and grooves.”\u00a0 Like many of the others on this list, this station has been around forever.\u00a0 It’s probably one of the first Shoutcast stations I ever tuned into, and it’s still going strong almost a decade later.<\/p>\n
