{"id":3543,"date":"2011-01-12T12:45:07","date_gmt":"2011-01-12T18:45:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mightyohm.com\/blog\/?p=3543"},"modified":"2015-09-26T11:11:01","modified_gmt":"2015-09-26T18:11:01","slug":"hv-rescue-shield-2-0-status-update","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mightyohm.com\/blog\/2011\/01\/hv-rescue-shield-2-0-status-update\/","title":{"rendered":"HV Rescue Shield 2.0 status update"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Just before the holidays, an issue with the Rescue Shield 2.0 (which I have at times referred to as &#8220;2.x&#8221;) was identified. \u00a0The issue involves problems reading\/writing to parts that have certain startup timer (SUT) fuse values set.<\/p>\n<p>There is some more information about the issue on the forums and in <a href=\"http:\/\/mightyohm.com\/blog\/2010\/12\/issue-with-rescue-shield-and-targets-with-sut-0ms\/\">a previous post here<\/a> and I created a <a href=\"http:\/\/mightyohm.com\/wiki\/products:hvrescue:issues\">Known Issues<\/a> page on the wiki.<\/p>\n<p>While this issue will not affect most users (this is why no one, including me, noticed it until now), I am currently working on a fix. \u00a0Initially I had hoped that I could fix the problem in software, but after spending far too much time pursuing that approach, I have decided to address it with a hardware change instead. \u00a0This should make for a much more robust solution. \u00a0I&#8217;m in the process of revising the hardware this week and hope to release a new version of the shield in the near future.<\/p>\n<p>As soon as I heard about the issue in December, I stopped taking orders for Rescue Shield kits. \u00a0Kits and PCBs will show up as out of stock until I release the new version.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ll post another update when I have an estimate of when kits will be available again.<\/p>\n<p>Thanks for your patience!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Just before the holidays, an issue with the Rescue Shield 2.0 (which I have at times referred to as &#8220;2.x&#8221;) was identified. \u00a0The issue involves problems reading\/writing to parts that have certain startup timer (SUT) fuse values set.
