Interested in setting up a cool screensaver that will display a continuously changing collage of photos from the Electronics Workbench<\/a> and Printed Circuit Boards<\/a> flickr pools?<\/p>\n

Here’s how to do it in Windows:<\/p>\n

First, install Picasa<\/a>. \u00a0This should install the Google Photos Screensaver.<\/p>\n

Next, open the Windows\u00a0Screen Saver Settings<\/strong> control panel. (Type “screen saver” into the Windows 7 search bar, open the Windows Control Panel and navigate to Appearance and Personalization->Change screen saver<\/em>, etc.)<\/p>\n

Select the Google Photos Screensaver<\/strong> and click Settings…<\/strong><\/p>\n

Set the Visual Effect type to Collage<\/strong>, and adjust the Change picture every…<\/strong> slider to taste – I suggest starting at\u00a03.0 seconds<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Uncheck all options except Photos from public sites<\/strong>, then click Configure…<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nCopy and paste each of the following RSS feeds into the Additional photo feed sources<\/strong> dialog, and click Add<\/strong> after pasting each one.<\/p>\n

After adding both feeds, make sure the entries for each them are checked and click OK<\/strong>. Then click OK<\/strong> again to return to the Windows Screen Saver Settings<\/strong> window.<\/p>\n
Click Preview<\/strong> and photos from the Electronics Workbench<\/a> and Printed Circuit Boards<\/a> flickr pools should start appearing on your screen. If so, the screen saver is working.<\/p>\n
Click OK<\/strong>\u00a0to close the control panel and you’re done!<\/p>\n
If you’re interested in setting this up in OS X, the process is very similar – just add the RSS Feeds to your screen saver settings as documented here<\/a>.<\/p>\n
