Re: Miss-wired Pulse . . now it's dead
OK, thanks for the info. I'm surprised that miswiring the pulse connector damaged the kit but stranger things have happened! I'd like to send a replacement microcontroller U2 to you to see if that fixes it. Can you please send an email to support@mightyohm.com with your mailing address and a short n...

Re: Miss-wired Pulse . . now it's dead
If you short across the tube clips, does the voltage on TP1 drop close to zero volts?
How did you miswire J6?
I suspect that U2 might be damaged, but I want to hear more about how you miswired J6.

Re: Works only when button is pushed.
Thanks for posting the photos and videos. Few things to check: Some of your solder joints look a little suspect. I circled some of the ones that I am not sure about in the attached photo. Ideally the solder joint should have a hershey kiss shape. I recommend reflowing some of the joints that look ro...

Re: Works only when button is pushed.
That's an interesting failure mode and one that I have not seen before! I'd check all of your solder joints. Most likely the power or ground connection to the microcontroller U2 are not connected, or there is a short somewhere else on the board. If you send a high resolution photo of both sides of t...

Re: Miss-wired Pulse . . now it's dead
Sorry to hear that. How was it miswired?
How are you measuring TP1 to ground? Are you saying that the voltage is not 3V (or close to the battery voltage)?
If you remove the microcontroller U2, does that change anything about TP1?

Re: Power supply
The kit requires two AAA batteries. The high voltage power supply is generated inside the kit so you only need the two batteries for the kit to work.
