WIFI RSS ticker project

Post by keroism »

Hi, my project is a WIFI RSS ticker. It is almost complete thanks to the help of your site.
I've added this picture to your flickr pool: http://www.flickr.com/photos/keroism/3416389889/
I explained some what I did in the description. Also shot a video of it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=joyAQ82T ... annel_page

I'll post a writeup once I clean things up. I wanted to get some media out in case you wanted another picture for your NOTACON talk.

I am thinking of my next project with this router; an access controller for magnetic swipe card readers. I want to deny/allow accessing through doors based on data in a LDAP database.

Thank you for the stickers as well.

http://www.sureelectronics.net/goods.php?id=142
The display is a 24x16 LED matrix using the HT1632 controller. Up to 4 modules can be daisy chained together.
Sometimes they are sold on their ebay store for cheaper and free shipping: http://stores.shop.ebay.com/Sure-Electronics

There is a thread on interfacing with them in the arduino forum: http://www.arduino.cc/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaB ... 1225239439

That is super cheap!
I'll have to find a use for these.

I would definitely like to include a picture of this project in my notacon talk. Do you mind if I include the video too?

I'm including a link back to each project in the slides - do you have a preferred page for me to link to?

Feel free to use the video.
Eventually I want to write a post about it on my blog, http://slotcover.wordpress.com/
But it’s easier if you link to the flickr image and I will add a link to the article from there once its up.
